A word about programs for individuals with a traumatic brain injury: Marbridge is a multi-ability community that does not offer a therapeutic residential program for individuals with TBI. TBI Homes offer a cognitive therapeutic component aimed at helping individuals re-gain skills that have been compromised as a result of the brain injury.
While we do have residents with varying diagnoses and abilities, TBI is not an area of focus at Marbridge. The reality is we’ve found that most of the individuals with TBIs that contact us don’t identify as being part of the population we serve. That’s not true of everyone, but if your loved one would not feel comfortable or socially compatible being around individuals with intellectual disability such as Down Syndrome, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Williams Syndrome, lower IQs, etc. then we wouldn’t be a good fit.
