Independent & Semi-Independent Living

The Village offers independent and semi-independent living for up to 90 adults with intellectual disabilities in 15 upscale cottages. Residents are encouraged to make proactive choices that challenge and improve their life skills, social skills, leisure and recreation skills as well as their work skills.

Residents who live in The Village independent cottages enjoy a high degree of autonomy, yet still benefit from the highly supervised and safe environment of the Marbridge community.

Eligibility Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Primary diagnosis of developmental delay or cognitive challenge, including autism spectrum, Down Syndrome, PDD, and Williams Syndrome
  • Independent in activities of daily living
  • Able to ambulate and transfer independently
  • Able to follow a schedule of training and activity
  • Free of aggressive or threatening behaviors; no serious psychiatric or mental health conditions

Assisted Living 

The Ranch provides an assisted living setting for up to 88 residents. Residents are placed in either a shared room in a Dorm setting or a private bedroom in a Lodge setting based on where staff and loved ones believe would be a best fit. The Lodges offer a vibrant, lively atmosphere; each building is filled with natural and ambient light. The Dorm is a great fit for those with sensory stimulation issues who still need active stimulation but in a more calming environment.

The whole Ranch community is equipped with 24-hour a day awake staff.  A staff of resident trainers provides supervision and assistance with daily living as well as life-enriching activities.

Eligibility Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Primary diagnosis of developmental delay or cognitive challenge, including autism spectrum, Down Syndrome, PDD, and Williams Syndrome
  • Independent in activities of daily living and/or in need of verbal prompting or training
  • Able to ambulate and transfer independently
  • Able to follow a schedule of training and activity
  • Possible interest in maintaining employment on or off campus
  • Free of aggressive or threatening behaviors; no serious psychiatric or mental health conditions

The Villa

Skilled Nursing Care

The Villa provides a safe, loving environment for up to 82 people who cannot care for themselves. We are a licensed skilled nursing facility that provides individualized medical, rehabilitative, dietary, social, and spiritual services.  Residents at the Villa represent a diversity in diagnoses. Many families choose The Villa for loved ones who have an intellectual disability or more profound medical needs such as muscular dystrophy and cerebral palsy.

Residents who live in The Villa enjoy a full life with a schedule full of games, activities, and opportunities offered on campus as well as some community outings while under 24-hour licensed medical supervision.

Eligibility Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • In need of physical assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, toileting, grooming, etc.)
  • In need of medical care provided by registered, licensed and certified nursing staff
  • If developmentally delayed, meets the requirements of pre-admission Screening and Resident Review (PASARR) as approved in writing by a physician or official nurse
  • Free of aggressive or threatening behaviors; no serious psychiatric or mental health condition

A fun and safe week where young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities can learn, experience, and achieve!

Our 200-acre campus, located just outside Austin, allows our campers to enjoy a wide variety of activities while promoting team development. All activities are adapted to meet the interests, skills and ages of our campers, and our dedicated staff will positively reinforce the progress that individuals make in problem solving, interpersonal communications, self-assurance, and independent living tasks. The week-long camp activities include: swimming, horseback riding, arts, crafts, music, games, sports and community outings. It’s an active, exciting week at Camp Marbridge!

Eligibility Requirements

  • Ages 16 – 30 years old
  • Primary diagnosis of a developmental disability or cognitive challenge (Downs Syndrome, Williams Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorders, etc.)
  • Largely independent in mobility and the basic daily living skills, including toileting, bathing, grooming, dressing and eating*
  • Free of physically aggressive or threatening behaviors (hitting, kicking, biting, pinching, scratching, yelling, etc.)
  • Free of medical conditions that require RN assistance
  • Wish to begin the transition from home to a more independent life
