Afternoon Supervisor

Marbridge Village, our semi-independent living facility, is currently looking for a full-time shift supervisor.

Available shift:

  • Full-time, Monday- Friday, 2:00pm- 10:00pm

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible to the Assistant Director for supervising shift staff to ensure each staff member maintains a safe, respectful, organized environment where residents can thrive and reach their full potential. The Shift Supervisor must direct staff and maintain goals and operation of the facility to ensure the safety, well-being and happiness of residents while assuring a professional, respectful working environment for staff.

Responsibilities include ensuring shift is adequately staffed, staff is completing assigned tasks, residents attend appointments and activities as scheduled, proper documentation of shift events, making safety-conscious decisions, and ensuring proper reporting and communication with the Assistant Director. This responsibility includes ensuring compliance with state standards and regulations regarding an assisted living facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure shift is staffed appropriately; review, approve and forward to Asst. Director  vacation/holiday time off requests in order to maintain and schedule staff coverage and to lessen scheduling conflicts
  • Report emergencies, concerns and unusual occurrences to the Director/Asst. Director
  • Ensure drivers complete their routes in a safe and timely manner
  • Ensure residents maintain good personal hygiene and personal living areas are clean prior to signing off-campus passes
  • Ensure residents attend classes, go to work, appointments and activities as scheduled
  • Ensure staff is appropriately and effectively training and re-directing residents
  • Supervise staff in facilitating positive communication and problem solving between residents
  • Ensure safety-conscious decisions regarding transportation and weather-related issues
  • Conduct and document fire drills during designated months; forward completed paperwork to Asst. Director
  • Conduct a walk-through of cottages on a regular schedule; ensure staff is completing tasks and scheduled training each day
  • Ensure petty cash and other Marbridge money distributed to the shift is secure, accounted for and documented when dispensed
  • Ensure medical files and medical information for residents is appropriately logged in and communicated to staff, family and sponsors as appropriate
  • Ensure medications arriving on campus during shift are correctly logged in
  • Complete resident incident reports and staff occupational injury reports immediately; notify Asst. Director/Director at time of occurrence
  • Perform similar job-related duties as assigned

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Must be 21 years old or older, have a valid Texas driver’s license, and have a clean driving record
  • One year experience in a direct care setting preferred, preferably with individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities
  • Must possess good communication skills and professional manner when relating to staff, residents, and families
  • Must be organized and have ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail
  • Must demonstrate exceptional customer service skills and have the ability to communicate, read, speak and write the English language
  • Supervisory experience a plus
