Resident Life

See how T&E helps Marbridge residents learn, experience, and achieve a whole new life.

T&E

  • Marbridge offers Abilities-Centered Training (ACT) based on the theory of multiple intelligences. Our program begins with the expectation that each individual is able – our job is help determine existing abilities and encourage the next step in growth.

  • We go beyond traditional care models by focusing on each resident’s lifelong journey. Our nationally recognized campus blends residential living with personalized education, vocational training, and real‑world employment pathways. Every program is tailored to individual abilities and goals, creating a community where adults with IDD can learn, grow, and thrive with purpose.

T&E

  • Training

Developing skills in ADLs, social interaction, safety awareness, and health and wellness is essential to building independence and autonomy. Together, these competencies create the foundation for self‑sufficiency, enabling individuals to manage their lives with dignity and reduced reliance on others.

  • Experience

Adults with IDD thrive when they have opportunities to explore their interests and contribute to their community. These experiences build purpose, strengthen identity beyond the disability, and support lifelong skill development through experience‑based learning.

  • Enrichment

Life enrichment experiences transform daily routines into meaningful living by fostering purpose, connection, and joy. While Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) address essential self‑care, life enrichment supports the whole‑person well‑being—physical, social, emotional, spiritual, and intellectual.

  • Employment

One of the founding concepts behind Marbridge is the belief that every individual with IDD has purpose and deserves the opportunity to have meaningful employment and be contributing members of society. Today, our residents are meaningfully/gainfully employed, both on campus and throughout the Greater Austin area, reinforcing our belief that people with IDD deserve opportunity, purpose, and community at every stage of life.
