About The Ranch

The Ranch provides an assisted living setting for up to 94 residents. Residents are placed in either a shared room in a Dorm setting or a shared suite in a Lodge setting based on where staff believe would be a best fit. The Ranch offers a vibrant, lively atmosphere; each building is filled with natural and ambient light. The Ranch offers spaces for those with sensory stimulation issues who still need active stimulation but in a more calming environment. The whole Ranch community is equipped with 24-hour a day awake staff. A staff of resident trainers provides supervision and assistance with daily living as well as life-enriching activities.

Whether your loved one is leaving home for the first time or has lived in other care settings, Ranch residents find their new life at Marbridge full of growth opportunities and leisure/social activities.

The Ranch was designed to provide assisted living consisting of verbal prompting, side by side training, and intermittent hands-on assistance.

Staff & Support

The Ranch has approximately a 1:12 staff to resident ratio, 24-hour awake staff, nursing care, an in-house rehab team and registered dietician to create healthy and tasty meals.

Admission to The Ranch is intended for adults with IDD who demonstrate a moderate level of independence and the ability to function successfully in an assisted living environment. Contact our Admissions team to see if your loved one would be a good fit for The Ranch.

The Ranch in Depth

Residents are expected and encouraged to make informed, proactive choices that strengthen essential life skills, social engagement, leisure and recreational participation, and vocational readiness. The Village is designed for individuals who are capable of functioning independently in daily living while benefiting from guidance, oversight, and structured programming.

– Shared bedrooms or suites.

– Bed, night stand, and dresser are provided by Marbridge. Residents are able and encouraged to bring their own items and decorate as they wish.

– Shared living areas and dining hall.

– Individual Program Plan (IPP).

– T&E opportunities.

– Employment opportunities on and off-campus.

– Access to supervised community centers including the Chapel, Tuite Enrichment Center, swimming pool, Victory Hall, Marbridge’s state-of-the-art athletic facility & wellness center during classes and scheduled times.

Eligibility Requirements

Admission to The Ranch is intended for adults who demonstrate the ability to function successfully in an assisted living environment.

Prospective residents must:

– Be 18 years of age or older.
– Have a primary diagnosis of a developmental or cognitive disability, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, Williams Syndrome, etc.
– Demonstrate consistent and independent performance of Activities of Daily Living, including personal hygiene, routine room care, and independent laundry care with minimal staff assistance.
– Be able to ambulate and transfer independently.
– Be able to reliably follow a structured daily schedule of training, activities, and responsibilities.
– Be free from aggressive, combative, or threatening behaviors.
– Not have serious, unmanaged psychiatric or mental health conditions that would interfere with community living.

These criteria represent general admission guidelines. All prospective residents are reviewed on an individual basis to determine program appropriateness.

Pricing

$4,475 per month, which includes all amenities, services, and programs listed above.

The following are not included in the monthly tuition and are the responsibility of the resident or sponsor:

– Personal spending (shopping, outings, therapy, travel, discretionary activities).
– Medical expenses not covered by insurance.
– If a resident receives monthly income through Social Security, disability, or veteran benefits, those funds may be applied directly toward tuition. The family or sponsor is responsible for any remaining balance.
-When appropriate and approved, earnings from on-campus or off-campus employment may also be applied toward the resident’s monthly tuition obligation.

What are the eligibility requirements to live at The Ranch?

  • Residents must be 18 years of age or older

What does pricing look like for a place at The Ranch?

$4,475 per month includes all amenities and programs listed in the Amenities & Services section above.

What expenses are not included in the tuition cost?

Residents’ personal spending for shopping, outings, travel, etc. and any medical expenses not covered by an insurance carrier are not included in the tuition cost and are an additional cost.

Can Social Security, disability, or veteran benefits be applied toward tuition?

If a resident receives a monthly benefit income from Social Security, disability, or veteran benefits, those funds may be applied directly to the monthly tuition and the family/sponsor will be responsible for the remaining balance.

Can a resident’s employment income be used to help pay tuition?

If employment is appropriate for the resident’s needs and abilities, funds earned through on-campus or off-campus employment opportunities may also be applied toward the tuition balance.

Is your program licensed?

Yes, The Ranch is licensed by THHS as a Type A Assisted Living community.

Where do residents live?

The Ranch has two residential offerings – the dorm and the lodges with dorm or lodge offerings with placement based on abilities, needs, or availability.

Can you describe a typical Ranch resident?

An individual with IDD who can manage their daily living tasks but may need prompts and reminders without physical or standby assistance.

What is the staffing level?

Staff to resident ratio is 1:12 with 24-hour alert & available supervision.

What are Dorm or Lodge expectations?

Residents will complete self-care, basic bedroom chores, follow a semester schedule, and be respectful of personal and physical boundaries.

Can you accommodate special diets?

We can accommodate gluten-free, low carb, and diabetic diet plans. We have a licensed and registered dietitian and dietary crew that provides 3 meals and a snack daily. Residents can participate in cooking training but do not keep food in their rooms.

What do the residents do?

Residents participate in tri-semester based training and enjoy weekly and monthly social offerings, both on and off campus, including seasonal Special Olympic sports

Can I pick up my loved one?

Yes, whether it is for a holiday, a family trip, or a home visit during one of our semester breaks, residents are able to enjoy time away with approved family and friends.

Do you allow romantic relationships?

While we encourage positive and friendly relationships across our campus, we do not offer private or individual spaces for romantic relations. We want our residents to feel safe and comfortable and to be respectful of the personal and social boundaries of others.
