Santa Comes to Senior Dorm

“I’m so impressed that Santa flew through such awful weather just to come see us early,” commented Howard, a resident at Senior Dorm as Santa entered into the activity room.

Indeed, Santa did brave a nasty rainstorm to visit the residents at Senior Dorm early this year. Though his clothes may have been a bit soggy, the spirits weren’t dampened in the least when Santa walked through the door.

Every year The Langford Family, Connie and Jim along with daughter Keri, provide a holiday experience that residents talk about through the entire following year. On December 14, with Mrs. Claus by his side, Santa joined the residents in a delicious meal with dessert, the reading of Christmas stories, singing carols, and distributing personalized gifts.

“The holidays can be a time of angst with some residents because they don’t get to go home or have outlived their supports and families. The Langford’s help Santa plan for months on how to personalize Christmas for the senior dorm and each resident,” reflected Becca McPherson, Vice President of Development. “They help to define what the Christmas spirit should be and bring so much joy to everyone there.”
