In late 2018, Marbridge officially launched a capital campaign for the Creed Ford III Therapeutic Riding Ranch at Marbridge. The new equine center will allow more residents to participate, better weather conditions for both the riders and horses, classrooms, the ability to hold equestrian events, and so much more.

Our goal for almost 70 years has been to provide great programs and services to our residents. These opportunities aren’t offered in very many other places so we will be able to partner with other agencies, groups, and organizations to provide equine experiences to a larger population in the greater community. We’ve all seen firsthand how therapeutic animals can be for our own residents and we’d love to see that same healing happen with as many people as possible.
Becca McPherson, Vice President of Development

Since its inception in 2006, staff have been trying to manage horses in stables originally designed for miniature horses, fields unable to accommodate residents with mobility issues, and mounting maintenance needs. This new facility will allow for a whole new level of riding, learning, and partnering with others in the community with special needs.

The new riding ranch will bring success to our residents by giving them a facility that gives them a better learning environment. They will be able to work on their skills in a much more compatible environment and it will allow them more opportunities to keep progressing forward. The new facility will also give us the opportunity to have more residents participate in equine therapy, including The Villa.
