Food Service Worker/Cook

Job Description:

Join our compassionate and mission-driven team as a Cook at Marbridge Foundation, where you’ll help create nutritious, cafeteria-style meals that support the well-being of adults with intellectual disabilities. In this hands-on role, you’ll prepare and serve meals across our assisted living communities, ensuring food safety, quality, and timeliness. We’re looking for a dependable professional with a current Texas Food Handler Certification, experience in healthcare or cafeteria settings, and a heart for service. Shift :

• Thursday & Friday 9:00 am – 7:00 pm | Saturday & Sunday 5:00 am – 3:00 pm

• $17.25 a hour

Qualifications and Skills:

• Current Texas Food Handler Certification
• Must have ability to read/write/speak English language, read recipes, and follow preparation instructions
• Previous kitchen experience in a cafeteria or healthcare setting preferred
• Experience with the intellectually disabled population a plus
• Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and hygienic methods

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook cafeteria-style meals that meet quality, nutrition, and presentation standards
• Follow posted menus for all meals and ensure food is served on time and at safe temperatures
• Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen and dining environment in compliance with health regulations
• Inspect and properly store food and supplies upon delivery to ensure freshness and safety
• Provide guidance and support to resident employees working in the kitchen as needed
