There are many ways you can volunteer at Marbridge. From companionship to horticulture therapy, we have a place for you. Marbridge can put your time, talents, services, and products to use to benefit our residents—and we’d be pretty surprised if you didn’t have fun in the process.

Current Volunteer Opportunities:
Ideal Commitment:
8 to 10 hours per month
Area of Involvement:
Campus-wide
Role: We are seeking individuals or families who wish to mentor to one resident. Mentors commit to spending time each week or every other week with the resident to act as a positive role model. Volunteer mentors may do fun town trips to movies, restaurants, shopping, sport events and other leisure activities.
Ideal Commitment:
Sundays, 9am – 12:30 am
Area of Involvement:
The Ranch, The Village, The Villa
Role: Many residents enjoy attending church. You can be an important part of their spiritual development by driving a group of residents to a service in the community.

November to May
Area of Involvement:
The Village, The Ranch
Role: Help lead the Marbridge Longhorns to victory! Come help our athletes develop their game skills and athletic ability. The team practices on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 6pm to 8pm and plays games on Monday and Wednesday nights. Coach volunteers may need to complete Special Olympics certification.

The Village, The Ranch
Role: Help lead the Marbridge Longhorns to victory! Come help our athletes develop their game skills and athletic ability. Role: Guest speakers add variety to our training programs. Do you know how to sew? Are you a cosmetologist? Come share your knowledge, work, or hobby experience with residents in sessions like Job Skills, Social Skills, and Ladies' Hygiene.

Area of Involvement:
The Ranch, The Village
Role: Health coaches are needed for small groups of residents who need extra motivation to exercise and eat healthy. As an exercise coach, you would make a difference in the residents' health and overall well-being.

Role: Volunteers are needed to supervise unstructured swimming sessions for residents on evenings and weekends. Water safety experience is preferred.

Role: Many residents enjoy bike riding around the Marbridge campus for exercise and relaxation. Do you have a special talent for fixing things? You can help us keep our bikes in good working condition and make repairs when things break.

Equine Therapy Center (a.k.a. the stable)
Role: If you enjoy working with horses and don't mind getting dirty, please come out to help with our growing equine therapy program. Never worked with horses? Don't worry, we'll show you how. It could be great therapy for you, too.

2-4 hours weekly or every other week

Administration
Role: We need help with light office work such as mailings, filing, and other duties. Office hours are 8:30am to 4:30pm M-F, and volunteer time may be flexible within those operating hours and days.

All communities
Role: Come hang out with residents at any of our three communities. Play board or card games or put puzzles together. Watch movies and discuss. Read aloud or tell stories. Our residents love visitors and making new friends!

Role: Cooking aficionados are needed to assist residents in independent apartments learn to prepare their own meals. You can help with menu and dietary planning as well as meal preparation.

When she first began volunteering in March, 2006, Kimberly had very little experience working with horses. Now, she spends 25 hours a week volunteering with the equine therapy program, helping residents learn the basics of horsemanship.
