Certified Nurse Aide
The Villa
Working under general direction and supervision of charge nurse(s), handle and serve residents to assure safety and comfort. Observe instructions of nursing staff and perform in accordance with established routine. Provide maximum resident care services to assure safety, well-being and happiness of residents to greatest degree. Carry out duties and responsibilities of a Certified Nurses’ Aide in conformance with established routine and generally accepted protocol. Practice universal precautions and adhere to blood borne pathogen rules. Utilize proper lifting and transfer techniques.
Under supervision to perform duties assuring maximum care, security and treatment:
1. Assist with carrying out the resident assessment and care plan
2. Assure physical comfort, safety and mental well-being of each resident
3. Assist in customary daily requirements and tasks in care and treatment such as bathing, feeding, dressing, observing intake of food, care of hair, nails, moving residents from area to area, responding to calls, etc., which include lifting, transferring and support residents who weight 50 pounds or more
4. Detect and correct situations that have a high probability of causing accidents or injuries to residents
5. Observe and report symptoms, reactions and changes
6. Encourage and participate in rehabilitative measures
7. Assist with lifting, moving, and transfer of the residents
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED:
1. High School Diploma or Equivalent. Able to read and write English.
2. Completion of training and competency program approved by the State of Texas and holds a current Nurses’ Aide Certificate from the State of Texas.
3. Preferred 1-3 or more years experience as a certified Nurses Aide.
4. Personality attuned to the requirements of meeting needs of the infirm and aged. Demonstrates competency in skills and techniques necessary to care for residents’ needs as identified through resident assessment and described in the care plan. Demonstrates knowledge of universal precautions and the blood borne pathogen rules.
Direct Care / Resident Trainer
The Ranch
The Resident Trainer is an employee hired to guide and train Ranch residents in personal hygiene, good grooming, individual and group behavior, respect for self and others, bathroom cleaning, room cleaning, and other similar life skills. The Resident Trainer is expected to initiate activities and interaction with the residents.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to assist Residents in making beds, straightening closets and drawers which requires the ability to bend, reach. Must be able to use a broom, mop, vacuum cleaner, cleaning supplies such as windex and comet. Must be able to lift approximately twenty five pounds due to lifting laundry bags, straightening closets, storing residents seasonal clothing, etc.

1. Maintains a professional appearance and behavior when in contact with customers, residents and co-workers.
2. Follows Policies & Procedures in training manuals and employee handbook.
3. Recognizes that despite all efforts the company makes, the ultimate responsibility for employee health and safety rests directly with the individual, and as a condition of employment, conducts duties in a safe and healthful manner.
4. Remembers the importance of providing residents with services and attitudes that ensure the their safety, well-being, happiness and support the development of the whole person – physically, mentally and spiritually.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED
1. Must be at least 18 years of age and hold a current valid Texas Driver License
2. Prefer experience working with the mentally disabled.
Must have current valid Texas Driver's License and a clean driving record. Background and criminal history check required.
